Subaru is planning to import two new hybrid models for sale in Thailand during the first quarter of 2025.

TC Subaru (Thailand) general manager Sureethip La-ongthong said the company will first launch the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid followed by the Forester e-Boxer Hybrid.

Both models will be imported from Japan as the Subaru assembly plant in Thailand will be completely shut down at the end of this year. Other Subaru models to be imported are the BRZ, WRX and Outback.

She said the Crosstrek is a popular crossover in the US market and would appeal to Thai buyers with its sporty design, excellent fuel economy, symmetrical all-wheel-drive system and advanced driver assistance systems.

The Forester hybrid comes with an all-new design and larger dimensions while offering improved fuel economy and luxury.

Although prices are higher when compared to a locally-assembled variant, Sureethip said customers will benefit from Japanese quality standards as well as more complete packaging.

“In terms of pricing customers can be confident that we will offer the most competitive prices in the imported Japanese car segment,” she said, adding that retail pricing of the Crosstrek hybrid will start at Bt1.8 million

Meanwhile for remaining locally-assembled Subarus, the company is offering a 5-year/100,000km warranty along with free maintenance and 24-hour emergency service for the month of September.
