Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co Ltd (MMTh) has announced the appointment of Ryoichi Inaba as president and CEO, succeeding Eiichi Koito, effective December 1, 2023.

Inaba started his career with Mitsubishi Motor Corporation’s Overseas Planning Department in 1992. According to MMTh, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in steering large organizations, having held various senior leadership roles within Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, encompassing product strategy, product marketing, sales, after-sales, and network enhancement. Under Inaba’s leadership, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand remains dedicated to continuing its investments for further growth along with supporting Thailand’s moves towards the carbon-neutral era.

“We will continue our investment plans for new model development, production capacity enhancement, as well as facilities upgrading with solar power and renewable energy. As we keep expanding our growth in Thailand, we will also focus on ensuring our operations leave sustainable impacts for the Thai society, Inaba said. “This includes the implementation of carbon-reduction projects around the country and active participation in leading the drive towards a more sustainable future via electrification with a clear and consistent direction towards a carbon-neutral society. Additionally, we are committed to providing products that satisfy our customers in Thailand, and we aim to grow and develop together with Thai society and our valued customers.”

Koito, after completing his term of work in Thailand, will return to his new position at Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo.

Koito joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 1994, and was seconded to Mitsubishi Motors in 2014 before joining Mitsubishi Motors Thailand in 2020 as Executive Vice President of Domestic Sales Unit, Sales Strategy Unit, Network Improvement Unit and After Sales Unit. Later, he assumed the role of President and CEO in April 2021.

Under Mr. Koito’s leadership, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand realized numerous significant milestones, including the opening of Bt3-billion new paint facility in Laem Chabang powered by eco-friendly technologies, the five-million exports milestone, the six-million production milestone, the successful launches of Xpander, Xpander Cross, and new Triton World Premiere in Thailand, along with various recognitions and awards cherishing the company’s dedication towards customer satisfaction with enhanced sales, aftersales and services improvements while remain committed to social contributions.
