Suzuki is taking part in this week’s Idemitsu Super Endurance 12 Hours event at Chang International Circuit in Buriram with a new model.

While the Suzuki Ciaz and Swift models took part and won several Eco Car titles during past years, this will be an Asean-first for the Japanese automaker to send the newly-launched Fronx B-SUV to compete in a road-racing event.

The Fronx race car is put together by KTN Garage Racing, which previously ran Suzuki cars in the event with great success.

The purpose of using the Fronx in the grueling 12-hour race is to prove the performance and durability of the new model, says Wallop Treererkngam, vice president of Suzuki Motor Thailand Co Ltd.

“The Idemitsu Super Endurance Thailand is a 12-hour race, and we are confident that we can fully showcase the performance of our vehicles, which feature the TECT lightweight steel chassis, offering exceptional strength and wear resistance, along with Suzuki’s exclusive HEARTECT platform,” he said.

“Over the years, KTN Garage Racing has demonstrated exceptional capabilities by participating in various motorsport events with Suzuki cars, successfully securing championship titles in numerous races,” he said. “These achievements clearly demonstrate the potential of both the team and the Suzuki vehicles.”

Wallop added that KTN Garage Racing, which is managed by Atthapol Dechmak, is well-accepted in the motorsport scene for high experience and determination.

“For over 10 years, KTN Garage Racing has consistently participated in Thai circuit racing, achieving outstanding results and gaining recognition in the industry,” Atthapol said. “We have won championships and achieved success in numerous competitions, a testament to the dedication, skill, and preparation of both the team and the drivers.”
