Mitsubishi has staged the global launch of its XForce HEV hybrid-powered subcompact SUV in Thailand and will produce the new model at its Laem Chabang plant.
The XForce B-SUV was first introduced in Indonesia in 2023 with an internal combustion engine and it has been offered in various markets during the past year including Vietnam, the Philippines, Latin America and the Middle East.
The XForce HEV is the hybrid variant of this model series, which inherits a similar powertrain from the XPander hybrid models which are also assembled in Thailand.
Prices of the XForce start at Bt899,000 for the Ignite, Bt1,039,000 for the Ultimate and Bt1,089,000 for the Ultimate X.
“This is the first time the XForce has been equipped with our latest full hybrid system, and we take immense pride in manufacturing this model right here in Thailand at our Laem Chabang factory,” Ryoichi Inaba, president & CEO of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co Ltd, said.
“Over the past several months, we have conducted extensive testing, covering more than 100,000 kilometers across various terrains in Thailand since last year to evaluate its durability and driving performance,” he added.
Inaba said Mitsubishi’s testing team gathered valuable feedback, which R&D engineers used to fine-tune and optimize the XForce HEV. The final stage included durability tests and a specially-tuned suspension system designed to suit Thailand’s diverse road conditions.
The hybrid system in the XForce comprises of a 1.6-liter MIVEC gasoline engine that features a new two-speed transaxle and various functions that enable it to achieve an average fuel economy of 24.4km/liter (NEDC).
The XForce HEV comes with a five-year unlimited mileage hybrid system warranty and a 10-year unlimited mileage hybrid battery warranty.
Similar to the Xpander HEV, there are seven drive modes and two energy management modes, along with Active Yaw Control (AYC).
Top variants come with 360-degree camera and ADAS package. The interior also features climate control with nanoe X, colorful ambient lighting as well as high-quality sound system from Yamaha.
