The Thonburi Group has been appointed as the official distributor of the “smart” electric car brand in Thailand, and will start marketing the smart #1, smart #3 and smart #5 models through its subsidiary Thonburi Stardust Co Ltd.
Thonburi Stardust will stage the official launch of the smart brand on October 20. The company will oversee importation, sales, marketing, customer experience and after-sales for smart, which is styled by Mercedes-Benz Global Design.
“Our partnership with smart represents another significant milestone in Thonburi Group’s long-term growth strategy and reinforces our commitment to becoming one of the region’s leading providers of premium mobility solutions,” Papon Viriyaphant, Thonburi Group executive director said.
While the contemporary design of the cars is aimed at evoking emotions, it also features mindful technology and inspirational co-creation of the brand’s core DNA.
“This appointment reflects the confidence that smart has placed in our organization, our people, and our capabilities developed over more than eight decades in Thailand’s automotive industry,” Papon added.
