MG is setting the benchmark in the budget EV market with the launch of the Urban electric 5-door hatchback that comes with high-tech features including autonomous parking.
In this video we go through the design highlights of the Urban as well as trying out some of the advanced intelligent features such as various auto parking functions.
Retail pricing has not been revealed at the time of the shooting of this video but we will update after the official launch in Bangkok on June 10.
The Urban is available with two powertrain choices – 150ps and 160ps (both have 250Nm of torque) while battery sizes range from 42.8kWh (435km NEDC) for the Standard variant and 53.9kWh (530km NEDC) for the Max and Ultra variants.
The Urban also comes with Level 2 ADAS + Auto Parking Assistance — there are 21 sensors, cameras and radars. It also has a 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
In the top Ultra variant, the interior boasts a 15.6-inch center touchscreen with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, powered and ventilated front seats and full panoramic glass roof with powered sunblind.
There’s plenty of legroom for tall passengers at the rear, while the luggage capacity can be expanded from 382 liters to 1,266 liters with the rear seats folded.
The tight 5.2-meter turning radius makes it easy to drive the Urban through narrow streets, while autonomous parking can be done both from inside the car and outside via smartphone.
