Tasanapol Intharaphuvasak made history by becoming the first Thai racer to achieve a podium finish in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
He withstood pressure from Bosnian-Swedish Dino Beganovic to finish in second place in the eighth leg of the Championship held at Hungaroring circuit during the past weekend.
Tasanapol started off the sprint race in third position, but eventually gained a place to give his team a one-two lead. Despite constant efforts from Beganovic, Tasanapol was able to fend off the challenge.
The Thai youngster maintained his cool, delivering precise cornering skills throughout the 18-lap race, finishing in second place after race winner and AIX Racing teammate Nikita Bedrin from Russia who is racing under an Italian racing license.
