Suzuki sold a total of 4,784 vehicles during the first nine months of this year amidst intense competition in a shrinking market.
The Swift remains the most popular Suzuki model with sales of 1,669 units followed by the Celerio with 1,243 units. Suzuki also sold 627 units of the Carry while sales of the Ertiga Hybrid and XL 7 Hybrid during this period were 92 units and 360 units respectively.
Wallop Treererk-ngarm, vice president of Suzuki Motor Thailand, said there is strong competition within the Thai automobile market and there are negative factors.
“Although there has been a large number of new model launches, the low consumer confidence, strict financing measures and the flooding in many provinces have kept the market growth down,” he said, “But Suzuki expects that the situation will definitely improve towards the end of the year.”
Meanwhile, Suzuki has launched a new sales promotion to help boost sales from October 1 to December 31.
The “Suzuki Deal of the Year” is offered for all models featuring special promotions such as seven year extended warranty and maintenance, price discount, low interest, long installment period, etc.
