Porsche Thailand is accepting pre-orders for the new electric Macan 4 and Macan Turbo with prices starting at Bt5.39 million and 7.79 million respectively.

After making its world premiere in Singapore earlier this year, the electric Macan models feature 100kWh battery capacity and 21-minute quick charging capability (10-80 per cent).

At 400-volt charging stations, a high-voltage switch in the battery enables bank charging by effectively splitting the 800-volt battery into two batteries, each with a rated voltage of 400 volts. This enables particularly efficient charging, without an additional HV booster, at up to 135 kW.

Driving range is claimed at 613kms (WLTP) while performance is sportscar-like, with the Macan 4, with 408 horsepower with overboost and launch control, completing the 0-100km/h dash in 5.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 220km/h.

The Macan Turbo goes a step further with total output of 639 horsepower and a 0-100km/h acceleration in 3.3 seconds. Top speed is claimed at 260km/h.

“The new all-electric Macan combines electrifying performance with Porsche’s iconic design language. Following in the footsteps of the Taycan – our first all-electric sportscar – the new Macan epitomises our passion for innovation while remaining quintessentially Porsche,” said Mr. Peter Rohwer, managing director of Porsche Thailand.

The new Macan is 4,784 mm long, 1,938 mm wide and 1,622 mm high, and has a of 2,893mm, which is 86mm longer than the previous model.

The front end is highlighted by a shallow bonnet and pronounced wings, along with optional matrix LED headlights.

Thanks to the low 0.25 drag coefficient the Macan is one of the most streamlined SUVs in the market, and boasts active aerodynamic features such as adaptive rear spoiler, active cooling flaps on the front air intakes and flexible covers on the fully sealed underbody. Air curtains under the headlight module and low front end also help to optimize air flow, according to Porsche. More aerodynamic efficiency comes at the rear courtesy of lateral tear-off edges and louvred diffusor.

There are two luggage compartments – 84 liters in front and 540 liters at the rear, which increases to 1,348 liters with the rear seat backrests folded.

Inside, there’s a 12.6-inch digital driver display along with a 10.9-inch center display, along with an additional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger. An optional head-up display with augmented reality is also featured in the Macan for the first time.

Both Macan variants feature all-wheel-drive via two electric motors as well as rear-axle steering (5 degrees max) for the first time, allowing for a turning circle of 11.1 meters.

Suspension options include air suspension with electronic damping featuring two-valve technology (steel-spring is standard).

Porsche Thailand is also organizing a special introductory event for the electric Macan from August 9 to September 30 at EMSPHERE where customers can opt for various privileges such as charging cards with special prices, two-year unlimited mileage warranty and free gifts.
