Hundreds of Porsche enthusiasts from across the region will flock the IMPACT Speedpark karting circuit for the ninth edition of Das Treffen, Southeast Asia’s largest Porsche gathering.

According to a release from Porsche Thailand, this year’s “Limited Edition” theme will showcase the rarest classic and modern Porsche models, including the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a blended Chromaflair masterpiece from the Sonderwunsch department that pays tribute to the vibrant heritage and forward-looking spirit of the Southeast Asian region.

The IMPACT Speedpark is where Sihabutr Xoomsai, fondly known as “Tenn”, sought to organize an intimate gathering between a few friends passionate about Porsche sports cars.

Since then, Das Treffen or “the gathering” in German, has grown from a casual meet into a full-scale festival, catapulting Thailand into the global spotlight as a hub for the Porsche community in Thailand.

“This global recognition has in turn resulted in more exciting developments in the Kingdom, such as Porsche Design Tower Bangkok, the ultimate luxury home for sports car aficionados, and Curvistan Bangkok, a passion space for the Porsche faithful in the heart of Bangkok’s vibrant Thong Lo district,” the release stated.

Special merchandise with the event logo – a stylised ‘9’ resembling a turbocharger in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo in 2024 – can also be purchased. The background color of this year’s event banner is also special – it is finished in Porsche’s new ‘Turbonite’ hue, another nod to the Turbo’s jubilee.

Porsche Asia Pacific and Porsche Thailand will also introduce a new Porsche Village hospitality zone at Das Treffen 9, a two-story open-air pavilion that allows guests to take in sweeping views of the car display area and the Porsche sports cars.

The Porsche Thailand team will also bring some special cars to display at its pavilion: visitors can look forward to getting up close with the World Endurance Championship winning 911 R racecar at the #Raceborn tent, the original 911 Turbo, the 918 Spyder and the latest limited edition from Weissach, the 911 S/T.

Other highlights at the event, held from 3pm to 9pm, include food trucks, a Curvistan-themed booth and a DJ spinning music into the night. Entry is free to all, and Porsche owners may park their vehicles inside the karting circuit, while parking for other makes of cars is available nearby.
