The Honda CR-V has been named as the 2023 Thailand Car of the Year while the MG4 Electric took the 2023 Thailand EV of the Year award.
The event is held by the Thai Automotive Journalists Association (TAJA). This is the ninth year that TAJA has been staging the event, with the jury consisting of professional automotive media in the country.
The CR-V e:HEV beat other finalists including the BMW X1, GWM TANK 300, Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e, Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota Innova Zenix while the MG4 Electric emerged winner over the BYD Dolphin, BYD Seal, MG Maxus 9 and Toyota bZ4x.
Dr. Natthapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, handed the awards to the winners at the presentation held on November 22.
Vehicles that qualify had to be launched between October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023. Rules and regulations similar to the European Car of the Year and Japan Car of the Year were used to determine the winners.
