Great Wall Motor (GWM) is preparing to start offering the locally-assembled version of its ORA Good Car electric car in Thailand starting in January next year, the company stated in a press release.
GWM previously sold the Good Cat as a CBU import from China and enjoyed zero-per cent import duty privilege, but according to the Thai ZEV 3.0 policy, will need to start offering locally-produced version in 2024. The Chinese automaker purchased the old General Motors (GM) factory in Rayong several years ago and renovated the facility for production of its own vehicles, which will be for both domestic and export markets.

The Good Cat will be available in three variants — Pro, Ultra and GT. Thai customers will be able to place pre-orders starting from December 22 via the GWM app and website.
