The Auto Alliance Thailand (AAT) auto assembly plant in Rayong which produces Ford and Mazda vehicles, has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
The AAT plant was established back in 1995 with an initial investment of US$500 million. The Ford-Mazda joint venture currently employs 5,400 people, and the high domestic parts procurement ratio of up to 67 per cent further supports local entrepreneurs in Thailand while generating tangible added value.

Today, key management teams across all AAT departments are Thai nationals, demonstrating success in developing the potential and capabilities of Thais to become international leaders.
More than four million vehicles have been produced at AAT for both domestic and export markets.

AAT serves as a crucial global production base for both Ford and Mazda, manufacturing models such as the Ford Ranger, Ford Everest, Mazda2, Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-30. The plant also notably exports the Mazda CX-3 to Japan, in addition to being the sole global plant producing the Ford Everest for both domestic sales and export to over 100 countries worldwide.

Silvio Illi, president and CEO of AAT, said, “The celebration of AAT’s 30th anniversary is a tribute to all our employees and the spirit of ‘craftsmanship’ that we uphold. We are immensely proud that Thai people have risen to leadership roles, driving the organization to achieve international recognition.”
“We extend our sincere gratitude to all our suppliers and business partners who have contributed to this success. AAT will continue its unwavering commitment to develop and lead in producing quality vehicles that meet future consumer needs,” he added. “We will continuously invest in enhancing the expertise of our personnel expertise in advanced technology, while upholding sustainable business practices and social and environmental responsibility.”
