Chinese automaker Zeekr has officially entered Thailand by launching an electric compact SUV priced from Bt1,199,000 to Bt1,349,000. It plans to sell up to 2,000 premium-luxury electric vehicles in Thailand by the end of 2024.

The Zeekr X SUV Performance variant features a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing up to 428hp and 543Nm while offering a range of 470km NEDC (370km WLTP) thanks to a 67kWh lithium battery. The Standard variant comes with one 272hp motor and has the same battery capacity offering a longer range of 540km NEDC (425km WLTP).

Energy consumption is claimed at 16.4 to 17.3 kWh/100km (WLTP) and 10-80 per cent DC charging takes 29 minutes.

For the Performance variant, acceleration from 0-100km/s is claimed at 3.8 seconds (5.6 seconds for the Standard variant) while achieving a top speed of 180km/h.

Measuring 4,432mm in length and a 2,750mm wheelbase, the Zeekr X features double-edge daytime LED lights, panoramic fixed glass roof, frameless windows and hidden-capacitive sensing door handles. The performance variant comes with 20-inch wheels while the standard gets 18-inch wheels.

There’s also an intelligent B-pillar feature that displays key information is displayed on the driver’s door such as state of charge, door lock/unlock status and special features like pet mode.

Inside, there’s a 8.8-inch driver display and 14.6-inch center touchscreen powered by a 8155 Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and rose gold garnishing.

Apart from high-performance braking system, the driver assistance system features five high-res cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars that are offered in both variants, but the top variant gets a 13-speaker Yamaha sound system as well as augmented reality head-up display.

Zeekr currently has four pop-up shopping center locations but plans to have up to 20 showrooms from six dealers by the end of the year.
