MINI has introduced its new Cooper SE electric car in Thailand offering a driving range of 402 kilometers thanks to a larger 54.2kWh battery.

Retail pricing of the MINI Cooper SE has been lowered significantly, down from Bt2,469,000 in the previous generation to just Bt1,699,000 thanks to China-Thai FTA for electric vehicles.

Maximum output is claimed at 218 horsepower plus 330Nm of torque, propelling the Cooper SE from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds. The top speed is claimed at 170km/h.

The 54.2kWh battery can be charged from 10-80 per cent in 30 minutes and provides the car with a driving range of over 400 kilometers.

The exterior features LED lighting and 18-inch recycled aluminium alloy wheels while more recycled materials are used in the cockpit such as the upholstery for the console and door panels. Seats are wrapped with Vescin synthetic leather.

A round OLED center display runs on MINI Operating System 9 while other features include adaptive cruise control, parking assistant and Driving Assistant (upgradeable to Assistant Plus).
