Sales of MG in Thailand surged by 57 per cent in 2025 to 27,007 units, propelling the brand to the number five position in the Thai automobile market.

According to MG Sales (Thailand) Co Ltd, the company will introduced new hybrid and electric models at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show in March, as well as continue to offer lifetime warranty for battery and electrical components.

MG has a target of selling 30,000 vehicles in Thailand this year and achieve a five-per cent market share.

According to MG, more than 1.5 million automobiles were produced in Thailand in 2025, with 900,000 being exported and 600,000 being sold domestically.

“One thing that is significant for the growth of the automotive market and is being watched by everyone is “the growing demand for environmentally-friendly vehicles.”

Last year 120,000 electric vehicles were sold in the country, with the growth attributed to government’s financial stimulus packages. The Thai automotive market is expected to continue growing this year, according to MG.

Driving factors include the transformation of the Thai automotive industry into Asia’s electric vehicle (EV) hub, business models and production processes that will create added value for the Thai economy, as well as opportunities for expansion from the increasing popularity of hybrid vehicles.
