A total of 31 auto makers, 21 motorcycle brands and more than 300 accessory retailers are taking part in the 37th Thailand International Motor Expo being held at IMPACT Challenger from December 2 to 13.
The annual event serves as the final car marketplace of the year, as potential buyers flock the event to compare promotions and place orders for their favorite models.
Organizers Inter Media Consultants Co Ltd expect as much as Bt35 billion to be generated by the event this year, which will both help the ailing auto industry as well as Thai economy.

Up to 30,000 orders are expected to be placed for automobiles, plus another 5,000 for motorcycles. One million visitors are also expected to come this year, despite the ongoing Covic-19 pandemic, which has been dealt with effectively in Thailand.
For the first time, organizers are also putting together the Motor Expo Online Platform (https://ve.motorexpo.co.th) which serves as a virtual Motor Expo that allows users to check out new models as well as obtain product information as well as sales promotions.
A large number of new models are being launched, including EVs (electric vehicles) and PHEVs (Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicles). They include the Audi e-tron, MG EP, Lexus UZ 300e, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Honda City e:HEV, Maserati Ghibli Hybrid and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
