Kai-Uwe Trillenberg has been appointed as the Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) succeeding Bjoern Joachim Gustrau, effective from November 1, 2023.

Trillenberg started his career at smart GmbH in 2003 in Market Management supporting various European countries, including Switzerland, the Netherlands and Austria, according to a press release from the company. Subsequently, he joined DaimlerChrysler AG in Stuttgart, Germany, taking care of Market Management & Pricing for the UK and Ireland.

In 2007, Trillenberg was appointed as the Head of Marketing & Sales at smart-BRABUS GmbH in Bottrop, Germany. In this role, he oversaw product marketing, product development and design for all business units (cars, accessories, after sales), sales coordination, operational and strategic planning, marketing, communication and PR as well as business development. Together with his team he created the smart-BRABUS tailor made program, an individualization program for smart to cater towards specific customer needs.

In 2014, he took office in Beijing, China, as the Senior Manager responsible for the strategic planning of compact cars (Product Management Compact Cars) at Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales & Services Co Ltd. In this role, Trillenberg focused on market analysis and pricing evaluations for the compact cars segment in the Chinese market. Over time, he successfully oversaw the introduction of compact cars produced within the country. In October 2015 he took on the official responsibilities for Retail Strategy & Dealer Development, looking after the brands Mercedes-Benz including AMG and MAYBACH and smart.

Prior to his position as the Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Mercedes-Benz (Thailand), Trillenberg held the position of Network Strategy & Development in Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales & Services Co Ltd, where he played a crucial role in formulating sales strategy and dealer development, which he actively led and contributed to the formulation of key strategies in the Chinese market, such as OTR + (One Touch Retail), MAR2020 and new retail formats including AMG Brand Center and the world’s first Maybach Atelier. Moreover, he played a vital role in establishing close and trusted relationships with dealer partners and investors in China.
