MG has introduced the VL HEV, a hybrid-only crossover that will compete against other hybrid B-segment crossovers like the Haval Jolion, Honda HR-V, Nissan Kicks, Toyota CH-R and Corolla Cross.
The MG VL features an “Electrified Matrix Grille Design”, LED front and rear lights, as well as aero wheel covers similar to the ZS EV.
The hybrid powertrain is capable of producing 177ps and is mated to an e-CVT with three driving modes (eco, comfort and sport). The VL comes with a lithium-ion battery and three-level KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System).
There will be two trim levels, with top variants coming with black roof, electric panoramic sunroof, two-tone upholstery and powered front seats.
Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch virtual dashboard and a 12.3-inch touch panel that forms a super wide screen across the front console. A double-layer center console houses the joystick type gear lever and two types of USB ports.
The MG VS HEV will be officially launched in Thailand on August 8, and we will be test driving it on August 11. So stay tuned!
