Those who believe that the weakness of electric cars lies in its limited operating range might have to think again.

At the upcoming Thailand International Motor Expo, Mercedes-Benz will debut the EQS flagship EV that boasts a range of up to 770 kilometers on a single charge.

The EQS is not the first electric vehicle from the German luxury carmaker, but it is the first Mercedes model that was designed as an electric car from the ground up.

The car that will be shown at the Motor Expo, to be held from December 1-12 at Muangthong Thani, is a CBU import, but the EQS will be assembled locally at the Thonburi Automotive Assembly Plant (TAAP) in Samut Prakarn province starting next year.

There will be two models – the EQS 450 4MATIC with 245kWh and 568Nm has a range of 770 kilometers while the EQS 580 4MATIC has 385kWh and 855Nm with a range of 676 kilometers.
