Honda has completed its City model lineup with the hybrid version retailing at Bt849,000 (US$26,645).

The City Hatchback e:HEV RS features the same Sport Hybrid i-MMD (Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive) powertrain and Honda SENSING all-round safety as the sedan version that was introduced last year. It also features the ULTR seat configuration of the standard hatchback model, which is powered by a 1.0-liter turbo engine, and gets the sporty RS trim both inside and out.

Honda says the new hybrid model comes with a 10-year warranty for the battery as well as 5-year warranty for the hybrid system. The Japanese auto maker is also throwing in free labor for periodic inspections for 5-years/100,000km and 5-year/140,000km warranty.

At the end of 2020, Honda unveiled the all-new City Hatchback, which has received overwhelming feedback from customers thanks to its distinctive performance for fun driving and unique functionality that perfectly characterizes the hatchback style, Noriyuki Takakura, president and CEO of Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co Ltd, said. :Today, we are proud to introduce the new Honda City Hatchback e:HEV, which offers customers a new alternative energy as they experience its advanced safety and driving technology that meets all lifestyles, at an affordable price.”

Exterior highlights include LED headlights, fog lights and tail lights, gloss black front grille and 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior features suede leather upholstery for the seats, which can be positioned in a four modes.

There are air vents for the rear passengers, plus dual USB ports, 7-inch display and 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, SIRI voice command and remote engine start.

The Sport Hybrid i-MMD system comprises of a motor generator and a drive motor, plus a 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder, 16-valve engine, an E-CVT and lithium-ion battery.

Honda did not provide the maximum output for the new model, although the sedan version claims maximum horsepower of 98ps and maximum torque of 127Nm from the internal-combustion engine, as well as 109ps from the electric motor plus 253Nm of torque.

The average fuel economy is claimed at 27km/liter, with CO2 emission of 86g/km (27.8 and 85 for the sedan respectively).

The Honda SENSING package includes the following:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
  • Auto High-Beam (AHB).

Additional smart features include Honda LaneWatch, multi-angle rearview camera and Honda CONNECT.

Modulo aero parts are also being offered with the standard package costing Bt16,500 and the sport package available for Bt21,500.
