Ford has introduced the Ranger FX4 Max, a special factory-built model with upgraded off-road features inspired by the Ranger Raptor.
Priced at Bt1.189 million, the Ranger FX4 Max comes with FOX shock absorbers, all-terrain tires plus other off-road goodies.

“A large number of Ranger customers do customize their trucks with larger wheels and off-road tires, along with upgraded suspension, but in many cases the upgrades are not up to standard,” said Wichit Wongwattanakarn, managing director of Ford Thailand.
He said the upgrades in the Ranger FX4 Max is properly carried out and comes with Ford warranty, giving customers peace of mind.

Exterior highlights include a dark grey front grille with large FORD lettering. The mirror caps, door handles, wheel arch moldings and rear tray surrounds also come in dark grey.
The 17-inch alloy wheels are also finished in grey. With a 42mm offset, the track has increased by 26mm, giving the truck an off-road appeal. Tires are 265/70 R17 BF Goodrich All-Terrain K2 that are also offered in the Ranger Raptor.

There are also metal ‘hoop’ side steps and a full-length tubular sports bar that can be used for mounting additional off-roading accessories such as spotlights.
Ford says the suspension has been specially tuned, featuring new 2.0-inch monotube FOX shock absorbers, with remote reservoir in the rear for added off-road prowess. The front coil springs and rear leaf springs have also been specially tuned.

The suspension lift and all-terrain tires results in a ground clearance increase of 20mm (256mm), while the approach and departure angles have also been increased.
The Ranger FX4 Max is powered by a 2.0-liter bi-turbo engine developing 213hp and 500Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic.

The interior also gets restyling, including new seat upholstery, sports pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a module featuring 6 upfitter auxiliary switches for additional equipment such as winches and spotlights, as well as a heavy-duty 250A alternator.
“The auxiliary switches are also helpful for those who want to customize the Ranger FX4 Max further, as there is no need to cut and modify the electrical wiring system,” Wichit added.
