BMW will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its M division at this year’s BMW Xpo to be held from September 22 to 25 at Central World.
Apart from being able to check out the latest BMW models from its car and motorcycle lineups, visitors to the BMW Xpo 2022 will also enjoy special gifts and sales promotions. Free insurance and BSI upgrades are offered for various car models while motorcycle buyers are offered interest-free 5-year installment plan and free insurance depending on the model.
BMW Thailand president and CEO Alexander Baraka said BMW sold 9,317 vehicles in Thailand during the first eight months of 2022, and has a commanding 41.7-per cent share in the luxury car segment.
“This year’s event also marks the 50th anniversary of BMW M’s accomplishments, boasting the legendary motorsport spirit in uncompromising high-performance vehicles that stand out from the crowd. We truly believe that this event will provide an important opportunity for BMW to reach out to and maintain close relationships with our current and prospective customers.,” he said.
The highlight at this year’s event will be the new M4 CSL, M240i xDrive, 220i Gran Coupe M Performance Edition and the iX xDrive40 electric vehicle. Motorcycle highlights include the R18 in new exterior colors as well as the R 1250 GS Adventure.
The M4 CSL is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter in-line-six engine capable of producing a whopping 551 horsepower and 650Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission to deliver a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 307km/h.
A large amount of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) is used on the body of the M4 CSL to reduce weight along with other measures including M Carbon bucket seats and lighter alloy wheels.
There’s also adaptive suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and racetrack-oriented M Drive Professional along with 10-level traction control and M Drift Analyser for extra fun.
