American EV manufacturer Tesla has officially launched its first model in Thailand with prices starting below Bt2 million.
The Tesla Model 3 is available in three variants — Rear Wheel Drive (Bt1,759,000), Long Range AWD (Bt1,999,000) and Performance AWD (Bt2,309,000).
The prices are considered as highly attractive, considering that the Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive starts at about $48,440 (Bt1,695,000) in the US market.

Tesla (Thailand) is offering a 4-year/ 80,000km warranty for the vehicles. In addition the battery and drive system also has a longer warranty period of 8-year/160,000km for Rear Wheel Drive and 8-year/192,000km for Long Range/Performance variants respectively.
The Model Y is also being offered, with prices ranging from Bt1,959,000 to 2,509,000 for the three variants.
Tesla plans to deliver up to 1,500 vehicles starting in February 2023.

The Model 3 RWD is powered by an electric motor developing 283hp and 420Nm, with a 57.5kWh lithium-ion battery offering a range of 491kms (WLTP). Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 6.1 seconds and the top speed is claimed at 225km/h.

Meanwhile, the Long Range AWD model comes with to motors with a combine output of 498hp and 493Nm of torque. It has a 75kWh battery with a range of 602kms (WLTP). Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 4.4 seconds and the top speed is claimed at 233km/h.

The Performance AWD also gets two electric motors, but they pump out up to 513hp and 660Nm. It also has a 75kWh battery with a range of 547kms. Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 3.3 seconds and the top speed is claimed at 261km/h.
