British sportscar manufacturer Lotus Cars has appointed Wearnes Automotive Thailand as the brand’s exclusive dealer in Thailand, covering sales, after sales, marketing and branding activities.
A new Lotus Cars showroom is currently undergoing construction and is scheduled for completion in the last quarter of this year, according to a press release from Lotus.

Geoff Dowding, executive director for sales and aftersales, Lotus Cars, commented: “We’re delighted to extend our existing relationship with the Wearnes Group into Thailand. This is an important market for us as we continue the transformation of the Lotus business and brand. Wearnes’ experience in this market, as well as its knowledge of Lotus from its businesses in Hong Kong and Singapore, will be crucial to our success.”
Andre Roy, CEO of Wearnes Automotive Pte, Singapore, said, “We are honored to have the opportunity to work together with Wearnes Automotive Thailand to promote the Lotus brand. We are excited and looking forward to growing the brand’s presence in Thailand as the third market for Lotus in Asia Pacific region under Wearnes Automotive Group, after Hong Kong and Singapore.”
Teeraphong Rodloy, general manager of Wearnes Automotive Thailand, said, “Wearnes Automotive Thailand will actively penetrate the sports car market in Thailand reinforcing the Lotus brand with the British marque’s ‘Driver to Driver’ and ‘Simplify, add lightness’ strategy, which has won the hearts of sports car aficionados around the world for more than 73 years.”

“Exceptional highlights to be showcased for Lotus Cars ‘fans’ in Thailand in 2021 are the last batch of Exige Sport 350 and Elise Sport 220 models available for inspection in August 2021; and a total of 6 final editions (three of each model) will be made available within this year,” Teeraphong added.
Lotus is also planning to introduce the new Emira, the latest Lotus model, in Thailand next year. The Emira was launched earlier this month in the UK.

A line-up of Lotus Exige Sport 350 and Elise Sport 220 cars will be on display at Wearnes Automotive Thailand showroom on Ramkhamhaeng Road, which is expected to be completed and open for service within Q4 this year.
