More than 34,000 orders were placed for new cars and motorcycles at this year’s Thailand International Motor Expo which ended on Sunday.

As much as Bt4.4 billion was generated from the event, which attracted more than a million visitors, according to Kwanchai Paphatphong, the show organizer.

He said a total of 31,583 orders were placed for automobiles, with another 3,252 being placed for upmarket motorcycles at this year’s Motor Expo, held from December 1-12 at Muangthongthani.

“This year, the average pricing of cars sold is Bt1.308 million while the average price for motorcycles was Bt398,831,” Kwanchai stated in a press release.

“We had a total of 1,151,540 visitors (139,110 via the Motor Expo Online Platform clicking 1,819,123 video clips) which is considered as highly successful,” he added.

The top-selling brand at this year’s Motor Expo was Toyota, with 5,715 orders, followed by Honda with 4,115 and Isuzu with 3,329. Others include: Mazda (3,189), MG (2,297), Suzuki (2,185), Mercedes-Benz (2,005), Mitsubishi (1,572), BMW (1,111), Nissan (1,028) and Ford (1,025).
