Bangkok, Thailand – General Motors (GM) will export thousands of Chevrolet Trailblazer PPVs (Pickup Passenger Vehicles) to Uzbekistan in the coming months, the company announced.

“We expect Trailblazer will do extremely well in Uzbekistan where varied road conditions demand a durable and capable, yet comfortable, four-wheel-drive SUV,” said Hector Villarreal, president of GM Southeast Asia. “Furthermore, Trailblazer’s presence will help reinforce Chevrolet’s presence in Uzbekistan while providing GM Thailand with yet another international export market.”

With the Colorado pickup truck and Trailblazer, GM’s Thailand’s manufacturing plant in Rayong presently exports to 16 markets across Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, Central America and Central Asia with the addition of Uzbekistan.

Villarreal added that both GM Thailand’s vehicle and engine plants achieved GM’s ‘Built-In Quality Level 4’ manufacturing certification in 2018, placing them among GM’s highest-quality manufacturing facilities in the world.”

GM’s Rayong vehicle assembly plant has produced more than 1.35 million vehicles since 2000, and the GM Powertrain plant recently celebrated production of its 500,000th engine, with almost 70 percent being for international export.
